Ingredients

  • Steaks
  • 2 6- ounce NY Strip Steaks
  • 2 Tablespoons Kikkoman Low Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • Mushrooms & Onions
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 Vidalia onion sliced
  • 8 ounces sliced portabella mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon Low Sodium Kikkoman Soy Sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup water plus 2 tablespoons
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Steaks
  2. Place steaks in a shallow dish.
  3. Drizzle each with 1 tablespoons of soy sauce.
  4. Place garlic on top of steak.
  5. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  6. When ready cook as desired.  Mushrooms & Onions
  7. In a saute pan heat olive oil over medium heat.
  8. Add in sliced onions and saute until they begin to caramelize about 5 minutes.
  9. Add in sliced mushrooms and saute for 2-3 minutes.
  10. Pour in 1 cup of water and soy sauce, stir to combine.
  11. Sprinkle in ground black pepper.
  12. In a separate bowl mix together 2 teaspoons of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water. Mix well.
  13. Slowly pour cornstarch mixture into the mushroom & onion mixture.
  14. Stir to thicken.
  15. Bring sauce to a slow boil to thicken sauce, about 1-2 minutes.
  16. Serve over steak.
